Pakku's guest by DraxennHow I love things neat and tidyPakku's guest by Draxenn by *RobinRone
For cleanliness to surround me
Items stacked upon my shelves
All have small homes for themselves.
See my ledgers? All in order.
Four per year, one each quarter.
Alphabetized are the rest
Peruse them please, be my guest.
But something that you must remember
Birds will seldom lose a feather
Without rhyme or reason why
Details don't escape my eye.
I'll know if things are out of place
So won't you please respect my space!
Put things back where they belong
And I am sure we'll get along.
Now please sit down and have a drink
Prepare your quill and warm your ink.
And I will share a quick story
Of when some pirates tried to kill me.
No Nice GirlsWhoever said "first impressions lie" was an idiot. First impressions are the only reason I've gotten as far in the business as I have.No Nice Girls by *SkysongMA
Mizha didn't look like an agent. She looked like Daddy's princess, fresh out of high school. Her hair was too long and too blonde, and she wore the kind of suit tailored to look less expensive than it is. If she'd been wearing heels, I might have handed in my badge right then and there.
But she wasn't, so I settled for glowering at her. She had a shabby cardboard box in her arms, which she shifted to one hip so she could knock on my door. As if I couldn't see her through the glass walls of my officeand who designs an office with glass walls? I nodded at her through the glass. She met my eyes, hesitated, and opened the door. "Are youKali?"
"Sign's on the door, sweet cheeks," I said, propping my feet on the desk. "And you must be Mizha."
She bit her lip. "That's me," she said quietly. "It's, um, it's nice to meet you. I guess we're going to be
Sugar-sweetAfter my mother killed herself, Mizha locked herself in her room for three days. I found out later she went out through the window, bought a dime bag of pot, and smoked it in a sitting. She also marathoned Netflix's entire cache of Mythbusters.Sugar-sweet by *SkysongMA
I tried to become the primary chef in my house, since Mom was a homemaker, but unfortunately, I can't cook anything but souffles (go figure). I was trying to cook something to coax out Mizha, but everything, from scrambled eggs to brownies, turned into a black pancake. I ate a lot of sandwiches and spaghetti that week.
And my dad turned into a character from a Lifetime movie. By which I mean he adopted a troubled black teenager, apparently thinking we would learn a valuable life lesson. Or maybe he wanted to throw money at something until he felt better.
He told me while I was constructing the most epic peanut butter, banana, and marshmallow fluff sandwich in the history of creation. He sat down at the dinner table
My Fish DreamI was submerged in the ocean, surrounded by a swirl of fish. All sizes, all colors, darting in circles around me. They were swimming so fast, and I was running out of air. They bumped and jostled me in the water, and it felt like all my energy was just going into holding my breath and treading water. I would never make it back up to the surface. My Fish Dream by ~TheDelphina
I did what I feared. I took a deep breath, and every part of me started filling up with water. There was heaviness at my sides, in my legs, in my neck. I absorbed the water, and drifted down so far. When my back nestled gently into the bed of the ocean, I looked up and saw the surface, and all the silhouettes of fish.
And from this distance, I could see that some of the fish were tiny, voracious piranhas, and not fish I would want to swim with at all. Some of them were dolphins and friendly fish. But it was only from the bottom I could see them as individual fish, and not the massive cloud that surrounded and overwhelmed me.
I knew now.
A dream of MistI remember mist. It hung thick in the air, clouding nearly everything from sight. The air was cool and at the verge of feeling damp. There were birds though, reds and blues like the ones in Disney movies. They flitted around here and there, landing on white gazebos and then flying away to another. The gazebos were like a boat, spread out widely out, yet connected by wood bridges with ivy crawling all around the railing. The whole area was flooded; water was everywhere, crashing against the wood with a dull roar. Islands with wild flowers floated out of reach, separate and untouchable from the wooden surface that held a girl up.A dream of Mist by ~DaMushroom
That’s when I became conscious of myself and where I was. My eyes were clouded over as I looked over the endless waters, wondering how I’d gotten there. My hands were gently placed on the railing of the roofed gazebo, gripping the wood with my palms. I’d been wearing a white outfit; a puffy pirate like shirt, gray hued pants, and black bo
LeyLines Dream Contest:iconrobinrone: is inviting people to share their most inspirational dreams (and get cool prizes): http://leylinescomic.com/give-away/LeyLines Dream Contest by ~JKCarrier
I don't know how "inspirational" this is, but it's definitely the most vivid and elaborate dream I ever remember having. I really should try to turn it into a comic someday:
I had this dream in 2009.
As I was walking home one night, I saw a large herd of animals marching towards me. There were elephants and zebras and others. I remember thinking that these were the kinds of animals that used to roam the plains, back before there were humans. And then I saw people marching along as well, and I realized they were people from the past, including some famous historical figures. One of them was Indira Gandhi. Her appearance looked slightly "off", like black-and-white footage that had been computer-colorized, and I started feeling this was fake, like I was watching a movie. But the movie was shot from a first-person perspective, so it still kind of felt li
